Are you feeling swollen, bloated or puffy? Do you suffer from water retention, pregnancy swelling (edema), or have you had a recent surgery or injury? If you’ve answered yes then lymphatic drainage massage can be a key part in getting you feeling better!
Lymphatic drainage is a massage technique that helps move stagnant lymph and stimulate the lymphatic system. It consists of movements performed in the direction of lymph flow as well as deeper nodal pumping to stimulate flow through the lymph nodes.
Here are some benefits of lymphatic drainage massage:
- Reduces swelling and puffiness
- Reduces bloating and aids digestion
- Decreases water retention (edema)
- Reduces bruising and pain
- Speeds up healing
- Stimulates the immune system
I have been performing lymphatic drainage massage for many years, and received my full Vodder certification at the Vodder School and Wittlinger Therapy Centre in Austria. I am also certified in the Joana Medrado method, a highly effective lymphatic drainage method developed by Brazilian physiotherapist Joana Medrado, and I combine the two methods to deliver effective results.
I have an interest in the application of lymphatic drainage post cosmetic surgery, and I have years of experience working with cosmetic surgery patients. Lymphatic drainage is also valuable as a full body wellness treatment, helping reduce water retention, bloating and puffiness and leaving you feeling light and rejuvenated.
I am currently providing lymphatic drainage in Vancouver at my massage therapy location in the South Granville area.
*Please note that I am not currently offering bandaging services for lymphedema or lipedema.
