Please note that some insurers allow the payment to be made directly to the provider with the client paying only the balance, while other insurers allow the provider to only submit the claim on the client’s behalf with the client paying the full amount and getting reimbursed by the insurer personally (Desjardins).
When the submitted claim is not adjudicated by the insurer at the time of submission the full amount of the treatment cost will be charged to the client’s credit card on file and the claim will be resubmitted with the insurer reimbursing the client directly.
Additional consent forms allowing the practitioner to bill on your behalf will have to be filled out and signed if you wish me to directly bill your insurer.
