We have been given the go-ahead to reopen and we look forward to safely restarting our services. Due to the fact that we are still in a COVID-19 situation we are taking the following measures to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and other viral infections in order to keep both our clients and staff healthy.
Screening Questionnaire
- You will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire prior to your appointment. Practitioners will also complete the questionnaire along with temperature check at the beginning of the day. If you answer YES to any of the questions in the questionnaire your appointment will be cancelled and you will not be rebooked for the next 14 days or until you have been cleared of potential COVID-19 by your physician
- We have placed signage outlining the signs of COVID-19 on our front door in order to prevent symptomatic clients from accessing our premises
Informed Consent
- You will be required to sign an informed consent to treatment and waiver form stating that you are aware of the risks of COVID-19 transmission
Social Distancing in Waiting Area
- To help maintain social distancing we are only allowing one person to sit in our waiting area at a time. Please wait outside or in your car until right before your appointment in order to minimize time spent in the waiting area
- We will do our best to stagger appointment times in order to prevent more than one client being checked in or out of our office at the same time
Reduced Transmission Risk
- To reduce risk of transmission we are removing magazines, brochures and the self-serve water station from our waiting area
- Please try to limit the personal belongings you are bringing with you to your appointment
- To minimize potential aerosol spread please limit conversation during your appointment
- No guests will be allowed in the treatment or waiting area except caregivers for minors or clients with disabilities
Hand Hygiene
- We have set up a hand sanitizer station at the entrance and we ask you to sanitize your hands upon entry
- Our treatment rooms are equipped with sinks, soap and paper towel and practitioners will wash hands often following BCCDC guidelines
- Hand hygiene posters will be displayed by the wash stations
Contactless Greetings and Face Touching Avoidance
- Although we usually love hugs and handshakes, during this time we will utilize contactless greetings
- COVID-19 and other viral infections can be spread by touch if a person has used their hand/s to cover a cough or a sneeze. Tissues will be made available throughout the office should clients or practitioners needs to sneeze, cough or address an itch
- Face touching avoidance signage will be placed in our waiting area
Enhanced Cleaning
- Although we have previous training in infection control we have taken additional training in infection control as pertaining to COVID-19 in order to ensure best practices
- All high touch and common surfaces will be cleaned between each client with a COVID-19 approved cleaner. Such surfaces include door knobs, light switches, treatment tables, counters and washroom keys
- All tools used during services will be cleaned between each client with a COVID-19 approved cleaner
- All linens and table coverings will be either disposable or single use only and then laundered in hot, soapy water
Personal Protective Equipment
- Practitioners, clients and guests will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth during the entire time they are interacting. While we are requiring all clients to bring their own mask, disposable masks will be made available should clients do not have one on hand
If the nature of the service does not allow for a mask to be worn or if the client is not able to wear a mask due to health reasons the practitioner will wear a face shield or safety goggles to minimize transmission risk
